ECEF Keynoter Predicts Design Will Be Key Driver of Event Growth
3/7/2013 - Exhibition and Convention Executives Forum (ECEF) producer Sam Lippman announced that award-winning media executive Michela O’Connor Abrams will present the keynote session at ECEF, Wednesday, May 29, 2013, in the JW Marriott, Washington, DC.
In a session titled Design Drives Connections, Abrams will demonstrate how design has played a key role in the rapid growth of Dwell on Design, the fast-growing event she founded in 2005. She will also explain why the unimagined design of most business-to-business events diminishes their value.
Abrams, who is President of San Francisco-based Dwell Media, received 2012’s “Exceptional Woman in Publishing Award” for a decade of leadership and innovation in the media industry. Past award recipients have included Gloria Steinem, Maria Rodale and Eleanor Clift.
“Michela O’Connor Abrams understands why quality design is no longer an option, if events are to remain viable in future years,” says Lippman.
“Good event design promotes one-to-one connection—the be-all, end-all reason to exhibit or attend,” says Abrams.
In addition to Abram’s keynote, ECEF 2013 will feature:
**Are Business Cycles the Key to Planning and Budgeting Events? Hal Vandiver and Jack Goldman will look at the accuracy of using business cycles as a planning tool.
**Our Attendees Speak. A panel of corporate buyers will explain why producers must change their events to keep attracting attendees.
**Major Findings from the Large Show, Attendee Acquisition and Exhibit Sales Roundtables. Producer Sam Lippman will share the best practices he has gleaned from the 2013 roundtables.
